University of South Carolina head men’s basketball coach Lamont Paris returned to Chattanooga airwaves this week to preview the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament during Press Row.
After reviewing his first season coaching the Gamecocks, including South Carolina’s 71-68 win over Kentucky at Rupp Arena, Coach Paris described the contrasting styles of play in the Big Ten, SEC and other leagues across the college basketball landscape and told us which teams he believes have the best chance to make a run to Houston for the Final Four.
Paris coached at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for five seasons from 2017 – 2022, compiling a 87–72 (.547) overall record and led the Mocs to last year’s NCAA Tournament. It was the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2015-2016 season.
