Vanderbilt safety Brendon Harris announced Monday that he will leave the school and enter the transfer portal. Harris, a former 4-start recruit in the class of 2018 out of Baylor School (Chattanooga, Tenn.), received his diploma from Vanderbilt and will have two-years of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer.
Harris had originally committed to Tennessee during his prep recruitment, but later flipped to Vanderbilt and then head coach Derek Mason. At the time, he also held offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, LSU, Ohio State and other top programs.
As a reserve safety in 2021, Harris played in all 12-games for the Commodores and recorded 34 tackles to go along with two pass break-ups and a quarterback hurry. Last season, Harris played in seven games and tallied 42 tackles. In 2019, he recorded 52 tackles over nine games. Harris did not record an interception during his time at Vanderbilt.
