New University of Central Florida senior offensive analyst and advisor to the head coach Will Healy joined Press Row to discuss his new opportunity on Gus Malzahn’s staff.
Healy played high school football at local Boyd Buchanan and collegiately at both Air Force and Richmond before entering the coaching ranks in 2009 as an assistant at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He landed his first head coaching job with FCS Austin Peay in 2016, a program coming off an 0-11 season. The Governers once again failed to win a game in Healy’s first season, but went 13-10 over the next two-years, including an 8-4 record with three losses ito FBS programs in 2017. Healy took over at FBS Charlotte in 2019 and led the 49ers to the program’s first bowl game following a 7-6 over record and a 5-3 Conference USA mark.
