USA Baseball announced its preseason Golden Spikes Award Watchlist on Tuesday and out of the 55 players on the list one Tennessee Volunteer made the cut and that was junior outfielder Jordan Beck. The Golden Spikes Award is presented each year to the best player in college baseball at the end of the year.
Beck was excellent for UT last season as he ranked fifth on the team in average (.271) and runs scored (42), second in doubles (16), tied for first in home runs (15), first in RBIs (64), and second in total bases (135).
In addition, this is the third consecutive season that the Vols have had a player land on this list with Max Ferguson/Connor Pavolony (2021) and Garrett Crochet/Alerick Soularie (2020).

In addition to the Golden Spikes Award Watchlist Beck has landed on a bevy of other preseason awards watchlists:

- 2022 Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Preseason All-American – 2nd Team
- 2022 Baseball America Preseason All-American – 3rd Team
- 2022 Preseason All-SEC – 2nd Team
Pretty impressive for a young man that played his first full season of college baseball at Tennessee just last season.
