The Baylor School announced today that they have parted ways with head football coach Phil Massey.
“We are taking the program in different direction,” said Baylor Athletic Director Mark Price. “Coach Massey has been a positive influence on countless players during his tenure. I am thankful for the leadership that he has provided our program for the past 16 seasons, and I wish him and his family the very best. Baylor will now begin the search for his replacement, which will conclude in a timely manner to ensure a successful transition for our program.”
Massey was hired in 2006 and compiled a 110-72 overall record during his 16 seasons at Baylor, including back to back Division II-AAA State Championship Game appearances in 2010 and 2011.
Earlier in his career, Massey held an assistant role at Memphis University school for five seasons, and served as the head coach at Haywood High School in Brownsville, TN from 1993-2001.
