High School Football season is right around the corner and we’re all excited for a brand new season to blossom here in Chattanooga.
On Wednesday via a press release from Todd Agne of UTC, the Best Preps Jamboree-Presented by Chattanooga Sports will be kicking off in less than a month as 23 teams will be gearing up for the beginning of the 2021 high school football season.
The Best of Preps Jamboree will run from August 12-14 and will be played at beautiful Finley Stadium.
There will be three teams making their first appearance in the Best of Preps Jamboree and one team returning after not having played in it in previous years. The newcomers are South Pittsburg, Lookout Valley, and Marion County. The team returning is Silverdale Academy.
Now, let’s take a look at some of the more intriguing match-ups we’ll see over this three-day stretch of games played.
First, there’s the newcomer in Marion County who will take on East Ridge Thursday night. On Friday we’ve got a bunch of good games for you including, Cleveland doing battle against Ooltewah, and then McCallie plays to finish up the evening. Finally, on Saturday South Pittsburg will take on Red Bank and Bradley. Later in the day on Saturday there will be a bunch of teams to take the field, East Hamilton, Notre Dame, Baylor, and Walker Valley.
Admission to the Jamboree will be $10 and there will be seven quarters of play on Thursday and on Friday and Saturday, there will be eight quarters of action.
Also, if you’re into college prospects you’ll be able to get a glimpse at a few who will be on the field for the Jamboree which will feature Virginia commit Karson Gay of Boyd Buchanan who is one of the highest-rated recruits in the state. In addition, watch out for the three-star defensive lineman and Tennessee commit Gio Davis of South Pittsburg, among many others including Rico Tremble from Red Bank, Kenzy Powell from McCallie, and Baylor’s Trey McDonald. With all of this talent, the Scenic City is sure to be buzzing come August and all throughout the upcoming high school football season.
